Western Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage has been part of life in India for over a thousand years, providing families with relaxation and healing on a daily basis. It was brought to the West by Narendra Mehta in the 1970’s when the therapy was extended to include the upper back and shoulders, neck, upper arms, face and ears. ReKlein Reflexology follows the traditional method of Indian head massage where clients are seated and clothed. The treatments are dry, meaning that oils are not used.
The massage begins with the upper back and shoulders, where a combination of deep massage and pressure points help to relax the muscles, loosening and breaking down knots. Working through the shoulders and onto the upper arms further releases the common spots for holding stress and tension then massaging deeply into the neck, where tension typically accumulates, helps relieve headaches and improves cerebral spinal fluid circulation. Moving on to the scalp, a range of techniques are used that stimulate, revive and relax the whole of the head, increasing circulation and promoting healthy hair. Finally the treatment includes a gentle face massage which helps with circulation, skin tone, sinus and headache problems. Western Indian Head Massage will soothe away stress and tension, leaving you relaxed, revitalised and re-energised.
